Your Creativity Is a Superpower

This picture was taken in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. I worked with the Museum for 30 years and did several projects throughout the building. Here I am sitting at the George Nakashima table, having helped to facilitate its installation. Being @the Museum refined my sensibility and appreciation of creativity.

Please think about your creativity: how do you like to express? Through what medium/what action? Give yourself some time to reflect on how you see yourself as an artist!

When you are meditative and still in your being, a force of concentration can flow through, which allows you to reveal your inner inspiration in a variety of methods.

Linger in the magic of your own creativity. It can take many forms: in how you dress, write a text, do a dance, live your life.

October is nature’s artistic beauty on display – with trees changing from green to yellow, orange, and red.

Here is Georgia O’Keeffe’s “Autumn Trees White Birch.”

She was a pioneering artist who followed her own muse and forged a distinctive modern expression of her vision.

I had the great opportunity to visit her museum in Santa Fe, and it was fantastic! The many paintings showed her evolution from realism to abstract interpretations of the Southwest, Hawaii, and NYC, and the natural forms she found.

While in Paris, my enthrallment with Claude Monet was explored. Traveling out to Giverny, I had a mesmerizing time by actually standing on the Japanese bridge while gazing at the water lilies he made so famous.

“The Japanese Footbridge” is in the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. It is an excellent example of Impressionism, the art movement that Monet helped to found.

Receiving a Magna cum Laude in Literature from Boston University, I then went further with a Masters from Brown University. My own creativity has been inspired by the word. I have been enthralled by poetry, especially written by Emily Dickinson, Sri Aurobindo, Gerard Manley Hopkins, and Mary Oliver.

To read a favorite poem I composed—and my prose —you can go to “Pathways to Vibrant Health and Well-Being”. I was invited to write in this powerful women’s anthology.

Be proud of any glimmer you can create this autumn!!  Be empowered!!!
